Helping to build a successful community is part of Wayne State University's urban mission. Lending helpful hands to uplift those in need is a critical building block. Wayne Cares is a university outreach initiative that brings together the university community for the purpose of charitable giving. Its primary goal is to help university units work together and collaborate with each other for the good of the community.

From Monday, April 12 through Friday, April 23, 2010, Wayne Cares will once again collect items for donation to Jackets for Jobs, a non-profit corporation that provides interview-quality, professional business clothing at no charge to economically disadvantaged individuals in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. Since 2008, Wayne State University has generously donated more than 16,000 items to Jackets for Jobs.

In an effort to provide the most benefit to the community, clothing donations must be clean and on hangers. Please review the Clothing Donation Guidelines and Accessory Donation Guidelines for more information.
