Wayne Cares: Suit Drive 2009 Results

Helping to build a successful community is part of Wayne State University's urban mission. Lending helpful hands to uplift those in need is a critical building block. Wayne Cares is a university outreach initiative that brings together the university community for the purpose of charitable giving. Its primary goal is to help university units work together and collaborate with each other for the good of the community.

From April 13 through April 24, 2009, Wayne Cares collected items for donation to Jackets for Jobs, a non-profit corporation that provides interview-quality, professional business clothing at no charge to economically disadvantaged individuals in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. On Thursday, April 30, 2009, approximately 13,000 items were delivered to Jackets for Jobs.
