May is "Motor City Makeover" month, a major citywide clean up initiative. The City of Detroit's Motor City Makeover Midtown VI took place on May 17, 2008. The Office of Community Affairs jointly sponsored the Midtown efforts with the UCCA. Along with other business partners such as Blimpie and the DeMattia Group, more than 300 Wayne State University Warriors and community members helped clean the areas surrounding campus. We collected more than 300 bags of trash and provided a total of 600 hours of volunteer credit for our volunteers.
