In partnership with New Detroit, this is the sixth year WSU has sponsored Camp Enterprise on campus. More than 1,200 students have participated in Camp Enterprise, which is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors in the Detroit area.  Students participated in a three-day learning experience on the campuses of both Wayne State University and Michigan State University. The camp begins at Wayne State University and ends at Michigan State University in East Lansing. Students learned what it takes to get into college and graduate. They are also part of an intense and highly competitive business plan development competition. Students are grouped in teams and work to bring an idea to life in the form of a complete business plan. The plans are presented to a panel of business leaders and medals are awarded to the most effective teams.

This year, more than 200 students participated in the camp experience, which included team building presented by the Mort Harris Recreations Center staff, study skills presented by the Academic Success Center and a tour of our campus by Admissions. Skills learned at Camp Enterprise included how to create a business plan, teamwork, working under pressure, college life, presentation skills, and legal aspects of business
